Ping Pong
A controller-operated recreation of the legendary Pong, with two-player support and an AI computer opponent in 1-player mode. Featuring controller-only gameplay, a dynamic adjustable background, and absolutely no payments needed to play!
Instructions
Connect a controller and press Start/Menu to begin the match. Controls after that are:
A Button | Fullscreen |
X Button | Restart and keep scores |
Y Button | While holding, controller will not vibrate |
Start/Menu Button | Play/Pause the game |
Left Stick/D-Pad | Move up/down |
Back/View Button | Toggle Trigger Control Mode |
R/G/B Keys | Increase Red, Green, and Blue color values of the background. Hold Shift and R/G/B to decrease. |
When in Trigger Control Mode, these control changes take effect:
Right Trigger | Move up when not held down, move down when held down |
Left Trigger | While holding, your paddle will not move |
Tested Controllers
Any PC or Xbox 360 or newer controllers by Microsoft or Performance Designed Products should work. If you can get a PlayStation controller to connect to your device that should work too, and certain wired Nintendo Switch controllers should also work.
About
This is a little project I made in about 2 hours to brush up on a few programming techniques after having noticed I was getting rusty from lack of actually doing anything. I had so much fun playing against the working AI that I eventually updated it and made it a free browser game.
Ping Pong by Peace Of Cake Games is not affiliated with the original Pong and is just based off of it.
